Lightweight Midship Open-Top Sports Car: Honda Beat
The PP1 Honda Beat debuted in 1991. Developed under the concept of a “High-Density Personal Open-Top Car,” it packed immense appeal into a highly compact body. Measuring just 3.3 meters long and 1.4 meters wide, it featured a mid-mounted E07A engine equipped with the advanced “MTREC” intake system. This high-revving naturally aspirated engine had a redline starting at 8,500 rpm. It was the only naturally aspirated kei car of its era to produce the maximum regulatory limit of 64 PS.
