The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer “DD177 Atago” returns to the 1/700 Water Line Series.
Commissioned in 2007, the Atago is one of the largest and most powerful escort destroyers in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, with a standard displacement of 7,700 tons. Equipped with the Aegis Combat System, it possesses ballistic missile interception capabilities and plays a central role in Japan’s air defense. The kit not only faithfully reproduces intricate details, but is also designed for ease of assembly. It consists of approximately 130 parts, with clear parts used for the bridge windows and searchlights. A newly designed full-color painting guide has also been included.
