Tear Up the Circuit — AE86 Trueno Loaded with TRD Parts The AE86 Trueno, introduced in May 1983, boldly adopted an FR layout at a time when FF had become the norm. Its engine was also updated from the previous 2T‑G to the newly developed 4A‑G. Together with its sibling, the Levin, the lineup offered two body styles: a 3‑door hatchback and a 2‑door coupe. The model designation changed depending on the engine—cars equipped with the 4A‑G were labeled AE86, while those with the 1500cc 3A‑U were designated AE85. Its popularity remains strong even today.
